Larry Kornze, VP of Exploration and the company’s QP reports:
“La Chorrera is a mineralized hydrothermal alteration that measures at least 50 meters in width and can be traced over east-west strike length of 5 kms. Sulfidic silicification, locally enriched in base metals, has been established over an east-west strike length of 5 kilometers at the south end of the El Pato district near the contact of the Chiquimula pluton with surrounding metasedimentary rocks. The structural controls and mineralization at La Chorrera are very similar to the El Roque-Cerrito-Cerrito Oeste-Agua Zarca area on the El Pato property. Shallow, northerly dipping thrustfaults host vein and disseminated mineralization near the contact between metasedimentary hostrocks and an intrusive quartz diorite pluton. Mineralized thrust faults exhibit a brecciated matrix consisting of veins and vein fragments of medium to coarse-grained milky quartz. Pyrite and arsenopyrite are abundant, often running 5% to 25% in surface exposures.”
La Chorrera has seen only preliminary sampling but base metals are strongly anomalous, locally reporting up to .71 % Pb, .68% Cu, and .53% Zn. Most importantly, the size of the alteration system is much larger than the Agua Zarca-Cerrito Oeste-Cerrito-El Roque area where exploration work and drilling has concentrated to date.”
A series of quebrada traverses documents the presence of alteration and mineralization over an east-west strike length of 5 km (see appendix) and a vertical thickness that has yet to be established. Mineralization is controlled by shallow, northerly dipping reverse faults, just as in the Agua Zarca-Cerrito Oeste-Cerrito-El Roque area of El Pato.”
