Goldex announces Results of Recent Exploration Work and a 4th 2005 Gold Zone Discovery at the El Pato Project, Guatemala
January 21, 2006
Vancouver, January 21, 2006 – Goldex Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GDX) (http://www.goldex.ca) is pleased to announce continuing results and a 4th new Gold Bearing Zone in just a few months from its El Pato project, Guatemala.
The district-wide mapping and sampling which commenced in August and continued up through yearend has now identified another mineralized zone. The most recent results from 99 rock outcrop and float samples has identified a 4th new Gold zone for 2005 which is located approximately 1.0 Km to the south of the El Pato Zone. The exploration work has also further extended the mineralized corridor to the southwest.
Of the 99 samples taken, 47 were in the new prospect area and of these 47 samples, 6 contained greater than 6.0 g/T Au and 11 were greater than 1.0 g/T Au. Five samples contained greater than 0.5 g/T Au and 9 of the samples returned less than detection limit of 0.034g/T. Sample widths are from 0.5m to 1.5m and the vein structures are banded quartz with pyrite and arsenopyrite, which is typical for the district.
The northeast-trending gold mineralized corridor at El Pato continues to expand in width and in strike length. The positive results from the ongoing exploration program continue to demonstrate that the El Pato District remains under-explored.
The district-wide reconnaissance will continue into early 2006 but will also include more detailed mapping and sampling within the new prospect areas with the intent of defining drill targets
Analytical work for the current exploration program is being done by BSI Inspectorate of Reno, Nevada an ISO certified lab, and all samples are delivered to the BSI sample preparation lab in Guatemala City by Goldex geologists.
