Goldex Drills 5.85m of 4.86 gpt Gold at the El Pato Project, Guatemala
January 23, 2007
Goldex Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GDX) (http://www.goldex.ca ) is pleased to announce results from the first two drill holes completed at its El Pato project, Guatemala.
Drill holes GDX-01 and GDX-02 were drilled in the area of previous drilling by the United Nations and the DGM (Guatemala Government Ministry of Mines) during the period 1985 through 1991. This area, referred to as the Principle Sectors, consists of a zone of low-angle planar silicified shear structures hosted in a regional granitic batholith.
Four target areas or “sectors” make up the zone and from west to east are named Agua Zarca, Cerrito West, Cerrito and Quebrada El Roque. The Goldex drill sites were selected based on results of the earlier drilling and are designed to text within blocks of mineralization as defined by the United Nations. An interactive drill hole map showing the completed and planned Goldex drill sites and all previous U.N and DGM drilling can be viewed on the Goldex website at (http://www.goldex.ca ).
In the Quebrada El Roque sector, GDX-01 confirmed the presence of mineralization between DGM holes PD-15, PD-19 and 20A. Results of the previous drilling and Goldex GDX-01 are shown in the table below.
In the Cerrito sector, GDX-02 confirmed the presence of mineralization within the block defined by U.N. holes DHP-14, DHP-15 and DHP-17. Results of the previous drilling and Goldex hole GDX-02 are shown in the table below.
These drill results are the first of numerous holes to be released over the following weeks and months.
